Larger LNG ships at the terminal

The terminal has been able to receive larger LNG ships since the summer of 2008. From then on several so-called Q-Flex ships – which have a capacity of up to 217,000 cubic metres of LNG – have docked in Zeebrugge. Prior to the dredging works carried out by the Port Authority Brugge (MBZ), only ships with a maximum capacity of 155,000 cubic metres of LNG could be allowed for berthing at the terminal.

Your LNG gateway to Europe

Fluxys LNG offers from its LNG terminal in Zeebrugge essentially the service of receiving and unloading LNG carriers, buffer storage of the unloaded LNG, regasification and send-out into the Fluxys transmission grid for onward redelivery.

The Fluxys LNG terminal provides shippers with a flexibility tool as well as it serves as a gateway for the supply of natural gas to expanding markets across a major part of Continental Europe and in the United Kingdom.

Zeebrugge LNG terminal still in high demand
The especially high utilization rate of the terminal for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in 2009 has contributed to the increased shipping traffic at the port of Zeebrugge. Activity levels continue to be high into early 2010 and just today, for the first time a large Q-Flex type LNG vessel unloaded its entire cargo at the LNG terminal.
